Over the past few months, there have been many events regarding Mayor Libby Schaaf’s proposed budget and the city’s priorities. A number of important questions and debates have emerged: How can the budget address homelessness and affordable housing? How can it improve public safety and strengthen our police department?

But a deadline is fast approaching: the budget must be enacted by City Council by June 30.

Our forum will look at where we stand on the budget, alternatives to the Mayor’s proposal, and what changes we would like to see going forward. We’ll also discuss different approaches to fiscal sustainability, expense reduction, and increased revenues.
